ROSSENDALE and Darwen MP Jake Berry today announced the birth of his second child.

The northern powerhouse minister revealed he and his wife Alice's son Foster was born on October18 weighing eight pounds five ounces.

He joins 18-month-old Milo in the Berry family.

Mr Berry, 39, said"I'm thrilled to welcome Foster to the family and Milo is very excited to be a big brother.

"I've taken some paternity leave to help out with the challenges that a new baby brings but I'll be back at work next week."

In September 2016, Mr Berry revealed he had split from his wife Charlotte and the couple, who married in 2009, had divorced.

In November last year he revealed his new relationship with Alice Robinson, an assistant to then Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, and Milo's birth. The couple married in May.

Mr Berry won his marginal seat in 2010 and has held it in two General Elections since.

In June 2016 he was appointed by Prime Minister Theresa May as northern powerhouse’ minister in the Department for Communities and Local Government.
