Police in Rossendale have arrested a 26-year-old man following a spate of commercial burglaries in Waterfoot.
Officers were called at 10.30pm on Monday October 29 to reports of a burglary in Bacup Road, and on attending the scene, saw a man running away from a hairdressers.
Police gave chase, accompanied by police dogs, and the man was located after officers spotted him climbing out of a river.
He was subsequently arrested.
A spokesperson for the police said: "On inspection, police found that a number of business in the same block had been broken into that night, including another hairdressers and a takeaway."
Over the last two weeks multiple businesses within the Waterfoot area have been targeted.
The man remains in custody and will be questioned by police this morning (October 30).
