A TALK about the life of those who fought and died in the First World War will take place next week.

Barnoldswick Library will host the talk about a Lancashire solider who fought in the conflict.

The talk, which will last around an hour, is free but spaces need to be booked.

County Cllr Peter Buckley, Lancashire County Council's cabinet member for community and cultural services, said: "This year marks the 100th anniversary of the ending of World War One.

"Many people’s imaginations have been captured by this and some are remembering members of their family that were involved in this global conflict."

The event will take place on Friday, November 9, between 2.30pm and 3.30pm at the library in Fern Lea Avenue.

To book a place, call 0300 1236703 or call in at the library.
