A BUS shelter which was described as being in 'deplorable condition' has now been repaired.

Councillors in Colne have welcomed the news that a 'dangerous' shelter in front of St John's Methodist Church, on Albert Road, has been repaired. They have also said that work is taking place on all the other Primesight shelters in the town.

The repairs come 12 months after the issue was first raised by Liberal Democrat councillor Dorothy Lord.

She said: "We would like to thank the Pendle Council officers who again took up the problem with Primesight, and everyone else who has supported this campaign.

"It seems the threat to name and shame Primesight with their customers may have had some effect.

"We just do not accept that companies can treat the town centre of Colne like a slum. It is a super little town and we want to keep it that way.”
