VETERAN swimmer David Cock of Burnley has raised £1,000 for Pendleside Hospice after racing the 5.25 miles rom one end of Coniston Water to the other.
It took him two hours and 20 minutes to complete last month's ChillSwim, finishing 33rd overall out of 500 competitors and second in his 60 to 65 age category.
David swims most days at Crow Wood with TV and radio personality Tony Livesey, a supporter of the Reedley hospice.
He said: “This event is not an easy feat, and David worked really hard. His achievement in getting an age category second place and finishing in the time he did is really impressive, not to mention the amazing fundraising for the hospice.”
The Bay Horse Inn at Roughlee's Autumn Ball on September 14, raised £1,074.68 for Pendleside Hospice.
Joint manager Jack Swarbrick said “Pendleside is such a worthy charity and we hope to be able to give more as we develop the business.”
