A COUNCIL’S accounts have been given a clean bill of health by its external auditors.
International accountancy firm Grant Thornton's 2017/2018 examination of Pendle Borough's finances concluded the local authority had robust arrangements to deliver value for money.
Cllr Paul White, leader of the council, said: “It’s good to be officially recognised for managing our money well.
“We’re continually working to be even more efficient as we strive to protect our frontline services."
Susan Guinness, Pendle's Chief Financial Officer, said: “This is an impartial and objective report on our financial performance and our use of public funds.
"The auditor highlighted that we have a good track record of managing our budget and identifying ways we can save money.”
