A BLACKBURN Rovers fan who was forced to wear a full Burnley FC kit on his stag do was sent a letter from both clubs congratulating him on his wedding day.
Chris Gibirdi was sent a letter from Tony Mowbray and Sean Dyche after they found out he had been set up by his best man, Ben Ward, to wear a full Clarets away kit during his stag do in Sheffield.
The 32-year-old, from Chorley, is a huge Rovers fan and has been following the club since he got his first season ticket in 1993.
During the wedding speech on Sunday Mr Gibirdi was handed by his best man a signed letter from Tony Mowbray, who had made light heart of his antics in Sheffield.
Mr Gibirdi said: "I couldn't believe it at first, I thought the lads were joking.
"I had been given the letter from Sean Dyche on the Saturday while I was with the groomsmen having some drinks.
"I thought the lads had manage to create this letter, I didn't believe it was from Sean.
"Then to top it all off my best man revealed the one from Tony, it was amazing.
"Everyone thought it was funny and nice, including my wife Jacqueline."
Within the letter, Mowbray said: "I'm told Chris was slightly unfaithful to Blackburn Rovers by spending his stag do wearing a Burnley kit, but we'll just put that one down to over-exuberance from his best man and I know that he'll be completely faithful to you, Jac!
"We all look forward to seeing you both back here at Ewood Park after your wedding and honeymoon celebrations.
"Best wishes from myself, the players and staff here at Blackburn Rovers."
Within the Burnley FC letter, Dyche said; "I would like to wish you and your wonderful wife Jac all the best and a fantastic life together.
"Hearing about your recent conversion from Blackburn to Burnley makes it all the more special for us and we look forward to welcoming you and Jack to Turf Moor in the near future.
"Up the Clarets!"
Mr and Mrs Gibirdi have known each other for three years and got married at Stirk House in Gisburn.
