A MAN has appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged with child internet pornography offences.
Trevor Howard, 60, pleaded guilty to possessing a prohibited image of a child, 156 category A images - the most serious example of child abuse imagery - 71 category B images and 962 category C images.
The court heard he was in custody awaiting sentence for three breaches of a sexual harm prevention order by possessing internet enabled devices.
When he was arrested on those charges the devices were sent for analysis and that had lead to the latest charges coming to light .
Tracy Yates, prosecuting, said: "The crown court judge who is dealing with the breaches of the sexual harm prevention order is aware of these offences and wants to tie them all in for sentencing on November 2.”
That sentencing is due to take place at Preston Crown Court
