ROAD closures have been put in place after a building partially collapsed.

Police are at the scene of the incident at North-West Plumbing, Liverpool Road, Burnley, where the top floor of the building has collapsed and debris has fallen into the road,

They are awaiting structural engineers to make the building safe.

Sgt Tom Riley confirmed nobody has been injured in the incident.

Road closures have been put in place in Liverpool Road, Rossendale Road and Accrington Road. There is no pedestrian access to Rosegrove Train Station.

Sgt Riley said: "Part of the building has collapsed and it has ended up in the road. We are there assisting with road closures and traffic management.

"Nobody has been injured.

"The owners of the building are aware of the situation."

A police spokesman added: "We are currently dealing with a partially collapsed building in Burnley.

"As a result the junctions for Liverpool Road, Rossendale Road and Accrington Road are closed and will be for some time.

"Access to Rosegrove Train Station for pedestrians and motorists is also not available"
