DARWEN Rotary Club are sending shelter boxes worth £1,200 to help disaster relief efforts in the Far East.
They will go to Indonesia, hit by earthquakes in Sulawesi and Lombok and the Philippines where a typhoon struck Mangkhut.
The boxes contain essential equipment for disaster relief including family tent,s mosquito nets, tools, tarpaulins, ground sheets and other useful aids.
Spokesman Les Frankish said: “The plight and suffering of the people in these areas is heartbreaking. The boxes are sent on behalf of Darwen Rotary and we want the people of the town to be aware of what we are doing.”
