POLICE are appealing for information after a pensioner was injured following a collision.
At 9.45am on Thursday October 18, a 78-year-old man from Blackburn was involved in a collision with a heavy goods vehicle in Blackamoor Road close to The Willows Pub.
The man suffered a serious hip injury and was taken to Royal Blackburn hospital for treatment.
The driver of the HGV, a 60-year-old man from the Netherlands, was not injured.
Police are now appealing for witnesses following the incident.
A police spokesman, said: "We're asking for information after an HGV was involved in a collision with a pedestrian in Blackburn. If you saw what happened, please call 101 quoting log 0402 of October 18."
Several police vehicles and an ambulance attended the scene, and Blackamoor Road between Haslingden Road and Walker Road remained closed for several hours.
