OUTDOOR gym equipment could be installed at a public park.
Hyndburn Council has unveiled plans to install a range of equipment at Milnshaw Park in Lancaster Avenue, Accrington.
Among the equipment is a cross trainer, shoulder press, hand bike and pull up bar.
Mark Pickup, from the council's parks team, said: "The main features of the park include a ballcourt with line markings on a tarmac surface for a variety of sports including football, basketball, cricket, rounders and Kabbadi.
"There are two bowling greens enclosed by a security fence and supported by a small bowls pavilion. There is an existing old play area consisting of a single piece of play equipment which is many years old and includes a slide.
"Planning permission exists for a new play area although this work has not yet started.
"The proposal is to provide an area for outdoor gym style equipment within a central location of the park.
"This area will be level and free draining providing easy access to the equipment which is intended for health benefits and will be available free of charge to all visitors of the park."
