Police are warning Ribble Valley residents be on their guard.

A statement issued on Wednesday October 17 advised people in the Whalley area to check their domestic security measures after reports were received of persons trying car and house door handles.

A spokesman for the police said: "Ribble Valley residents be aware, over the last few nights we have received reports of persons in Whalley at approximately 4am trying car and house door handles. "Please double check your security and set alarms if available."

Police are asking for any suspicious activity to be reported on 101 in a non-emergency and 999 in an emergency.
