Kemar Roofe says he’s fit and ready to go at Ewood Park this week after missing Leeds’ last six matches through injury.

The Championship’s August player of the month hasn’t played since the 0-0 draw with Middlesbrough on August 31 but has put his name forward for inclusion against Rovers.

Roofe started the season in fine form, scoring four times in seven appearances as Leeds enjoyed a strong opening to the campaign.

But an injury to the 27-year-old, as well as several other key players, has seen their progress stall somewhat, winning just twice in their last eight outings in all competitions.

However, they will arrive in East Lancashire in third spot, knowing a win would take them back to top spot before the 3pm kick-offs get underway.

And they could be boosted by the return of Roofe who scored, and played 70 minutes, for the Under-23s earlier this week.

Roofe, who was linked with a move to Rovers in the summer, told LUTV: “It was good to get the minutes on the pitch, you can do all the running in the world on the training field, but it doesn’t match up to game time.

“Obviously it was nice to get the goal, but the main thing was getting the minutes and coming of the pitch still fully fit.

“It has been a long four weeks and very frustrating, so it is nice to be back on the pitch again now.

“I’ve trained all week, got the minutes now and hopefully I will be involved in the Blackburn game.

“The atmosphere will be great, with the amount of fans that we have going it will be like a home game, it will be immense.”
