A MAJOR East Lancashire provider is offering for free one-hour ‘taster’ training sessions for people looking for a career in caring for others.

They will be at the Furthergate Blackburn headquarters of Choice Care Wednesday October 24.

The sessions will cover caring for those with Parkinson’s Disease, strokes and how they affect people’s daily lives, dementia care and the challenges people face, and palliative and end of life care.

Andrew Key, managing director of Choice Care, said; “We wanted to open our training to the wider public.

“There are a large number of unsung heroes looking after family members whom often can’t access training, so these training courses are available to them. There are also a lot of people in the local area that we feel may be interested in a career in care but might not know where to go to find out more. Taster sessions give people an idea of the kind of professional development of our care professionals achieve.’
