A BUS company mobile phone-based app trialled in East Lancashire has won a national award.
Transdev's Vamooz free to download device offers customers an easy-to-use one-stop shop to browse day trips, suggest destinations and buy tickets, all through their own smartphone or tablet.
Last week it was was named the Most Innovative Transport Project of the Year at the National Transport Awards.
The home-grown concept, which uses up-to-the-minute mobile data technology to make access to bus travel swift and simple, was pioneered in East Lancashire and West Yorkshire.
Transdev Blazefield chief executive Alex Hornby said: “I’m absolutely delighted with this award. It’s proof that the hard work, innovative approach and creative thought we have placed in VAMOOZ has paid off "
