A CROWDFUNDING appeal has been launched by business guru David Fishwick as he looks to launch East Lancashire’s first bank.
The Colne-based TV presenter is looking to raise £2.5million through the platform Seedrs for his long-held dream of launching the 'Bank of Dave'.
He is hoping hundreds of investors will come forward as he seeks to secure the IT framework required to help him advance his licensing application.
David, who made his fortune in the mini-bus business, said: "The core vision for Bank of Dave is to be the ethical choice provider of loans and savings products to honest hard-working families, helping every generation to grow their business and to save for the future.
"We have had brilliant few years acting as a savings and loans provider, but the opportunity to become a fully authorised UK bank will expand our horizons even further, enabling us to help more people around the UK."
His outfit, Burnley Savings and Loan, is estimated to have given out £20million in loans since its 2011 launch.
