A MAN was taken to hospital after a car crash.
Emergency services were called to the smash involving a black Mercedes and silver Peugeot on A6068 Keighley Road, Laneshawbridge, shortly before 8am today.
The driver of the black Mercedes, a man in his 50s, was trapped in the vehicle and had to be freed by fire service crews.
He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital after suffering serious injuries to his chest and back.
The driver of the silver Peugeot was sent to Airdale Hospital with minor injuries.
Roads around Laneshawbridge were closed for two hours while emergency service teams recovered the two vehicles.
A police spokesman said: "Ambulance crews contacted us to inform us about a collision between a silver Peugeot and black Mercedes at 7.50am.
"One man was trapped in the vehicle and had to be freed. He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital."
