CCTV stills have been released of a race hate attack at Blackburn railway station.

British Transport Police say four young men approached the tickets gates at the station immediately before the incident.

Two had bought adult tickets and passed through the gate - but their two friends had child tickets and tried to jump over the barriers.

A transport police spokesman said that when station staff challenged the quartet, they were met with racial abuse.

Investigators have now released a series of security camera images in a bid to track down the four.

Anyone who knows who they are is being asked to text 61016 or call 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 632 of September 19. Potential witnesses can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
