A MAN has been left seriously injured after a high-powered BMW was involved in a crash with a Toyota Corolla in Blackburn.

Officers have issued a fresh witness appeal following the crash which happened in Lincoln Road, close to the junction with Ripon Street at around 11.30am on Friday.

The driver of the Toyota, a 39-year-old man from Blackburn, suffered serious injuries to his pelvis and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where he remains today.

Two men inside the blue BMW 440i MSport convertible suffered minor injuries. A third man, also believed to have been inside the BMW, left the scene.

Two men aged 32 and another man aged 24, all from Blackburn, were arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and later released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Sgt Marc Glass said: “We are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Blackburn.

“A man has been left with serious injuries we want to establish exactly what happened.

“We believe the blue BMW, a 440i MSport convertible, was being driven in the Lincoln Road that morning. If you saw the vehicle described and have any information, please call us.”
