Firefighters from Chorley were called to rescue a man trapped under a car.

At around 2.30pm on Sunday October 7, two crews from Chorley fire station attended a road traffic collision close to the Chorley Nissan Garage on Ackhurst Road.

On arrival at the scene they found a man whose leg had become trapped underneath a car.

A fire service spokesman said: "The vehicle had rolled back and partially trapped the man's leg.

"Crews secured the vehicle and set up tools in order to lift the car off the man's leg and managed to extract him by removing his boot."

Crews were in attendance for around forty minutes.

The man was assessed at the scene by paramedics and taken to Chorley hospital to undergo further check-ups.
