A LORRY caught fire on the M65 causing road delays yesterday.
Lanes on the M65 near Burnley had closed after a HGV caught fire between junctions 11 and 12 of the M65 shortly after noon today.
Motorists faced major delays travelling on the M65 eastbound between junction 10, near Burnley and Padiham and junction 12 near Brierfield.
Highways England said two lanes at junction 10 had closed while emergency services put out the fire.
All lanes then reopened once the vehicle had been recovered later in the afternoon.
A spokesman for Highways England said: "We received reports that a HGV caught fire between junctions 11 and 12 of the M65 at 12.10pm today.
"Lanes were initially closed from junction 10 but the closure has now been lifted."
