A DRUNKEN customer swiped off the manager's glasses when he asked him to leave an Accrington pub.
Blackburn magistrates heard Ian Stinson was being restrained by other regulars at the Commercial Hotel when police arrived.
Stinson, 37, of Park Lee Road, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to assaulting James Wells. He was fined £40 with £50 compensation, £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge. He was excluded from the Commercial for six months.
Andy Robinson, prosecuting, said Stinson had been causing a disturbance in the pub, shouting and swearing at members of staff. Mr Wells approached to ask him to leave and Stinson backed him up before knocking his glasses off.
"Other people in the pub were concerned what might happen next and restrained the defendant," said Mr Robinson.
Ian Huggan, defending, said Stinson accepted he had been swearing but not that he had been threatening.
"When he swiped the manager's glasses off he thought he was being funny but with hindsight accepts that he wasn't," said Mr Huggan.
