A WOMAN was sexually assaulted by a man in Blackburn town centre 'in broad daylight'.

Police were called shortly before 1pm on Wednesday September 19 to reports a 35-year-old woman had been touched inappropriately by a man as she walked along King Street.

The man was wearing a dark padded jacket and was using a bicycle with distinctive whitewall tyres.

He rode off in the direction of Rutland Street after the assault.

Police now want to identify the man as part of their enquiries and have released this image of him.

PC Stu McLaughlin said: “This happened in broad daylight on a busy main road.

"If you have any information, or recognise the man in the picture, please let us know.”
