THE manager of the Blackburn branch of Edmundson’s Electrical Ltd, Mr Alan Thompson was presented with a gold watch to mark 25 years of service.
Mr Thompson of Park Lee Road, Blackburn, had been been manager for the past six years, when this picture was taken in September 1978.
Twenty-five earlier he had joined P Beadle and CO which was taken over by Edmundsons a few years later.
He worked as stores supervisor, showroom manager and for 15 years as a sales representative.
Married for 30 years with one grandaughter and one grandchild at the time, Mr Thompson, 51, was an active memberof the Australian Finch Society and his main hobby was breeding Australian grass finches.
In recognition, of his long service, he was presented with a watch by Mike Boyd, Edmundson’s Electrical North West region director at the Sir Charles Napier hotel in Limbrick.
