CONFESSIONS of a Red Headed Coffee Shop Girl is the ideal show for anyone who has ever had a job they didn't particularly like.

Performed by acclaimed Canadian actor, comedian and singer, Rebecca Perry, she takes her one-woman show Orton Market Hall on Sunday, September 30, as part of the Highlights Rural Touring Scheme autumn programme.

The story tells of anthropology graduate, Joanie Little, who is stuck working as a barista in a coffee shop. Rather than let this get her down, she decides to make the most of her 'underemployment' and studies her only available subjects: the eccentric customers of her coffee shop. Hilarity ensues, with jazzy tunes and songs, co-worker showdowns, life lessons and even a bit of romance.

The show has been created and developed by Rebecca who plays more than 30 characters with superb acting, spot-on comedic timing and pitch perfect singing.

Confessions has toured across the US, Canada, and UK, and has sold out runs in more than 25 cities worldwide. It has earned multiple awards, critical acclaim, and a profile on Global TV Canada and now touring village halls across the north of England.

Rebecca is the latest in a steady flow of Canadian artists crossing continents to tour with Highlights Rural Touring Scheme through its partnership with Contact East/Atlantic Presenters Association which allows rural audiences to enjoy the very best of North American talent.

"We’ve had a number of Highlights one-man and one-woman shows at Orton in the past," says Sally Seed, the volunteer promoter at Orton Market Hall. "And they've always been a brilliant mix of comedy and drama. With Confessions, we'll have the added benefit of Rebecca's great singing voice too."
