A MIDWIFE from Westmorland General Hospital, Kendal, has become a winner of a Cavell Star Award.
Jane Tomlinson-Wightman, lead midwife for Safe Active Birth at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT), was nominated by her team for going above and beyond for her colleagues.
Jane has pioneered the use of complimentary therapy treatments at UHMBT Maternity such as aromatherapy, reflexology and therapeutic massage for women in maternity services, including her colleagues.
After a full shift, she attended college in the evenings learning as much as she could about the benefits of complimentary therapies and their use within the NHS.
Jane’s midwifery team wanted to recognise her for the amazing effort she puts in to making sure her colleagues, women and their families are cared for.
The Cavell Nurses’ Trust run the awards in partnership with LloydsPharmacy Clinical Homecare.
