TWO men have been charged with attempting to sell pitch advertising at Blackburn Rovers Ewood Park ground.
Glen Lee Paul Reed, 37, of Whalley Road, Clayton-le-Moors, pleaded not guilty before Blackburn magistrates to two charges of committing fraud by making false representations. He elected to be tried at Preston Crown Court and the case was adjourned for the preparation of committal papers.
Prosecutor Philip Potter said the charges related to attempts to sell advertising space at Ewood Park to two businesses which had paid deposits of £1,250 and £1,000.
A warrant was issued for the arrest of Anthony John O'Kelly, 25, of Whalley Road, when he failed to appear on the same two charges.
