A MAN has appeared before a judge and denied possessing three Tasers, including one disguised as a torch.

Mohsun Akbar, 29, appeared in the dock at Burnley Crown Court and spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and British nationality during a 15-minute hearing.

Prosecuting, Stephen Parker said the charges relate to the discovery of two Tasers in the boot of a car on March 22 and the discovery of a Taser, disguised as a torch, in a house on August 9.

Akbar, of Richmond Road, Accrington, pleaded not guilty to two counts of possessing a prohibited firearm and one count of possessing a disguised firearm.

He was given conditional bail by Judge Andrew Jefferies QC to stand trial at Burnley Crown Court on January 29.

The trial is expected to last between two to three days.
