Rovers reporter Rich Sharpe hands out his player ratings after the 0-0 draw at Derby County.

DAVID RAYA 7

Two excellent saves to deny Bogle and Bennett in a first-half where his distribution was poor at times. Less busy after the break, but happy to see the bar come to his rescue from Mount’s free-kick.

RYAN NYAMBE 8

Used to his athleticism to good effect to help relieve some pressure on the Rovers defence. One excellent block in the second half to deny Nugent.

DARRAGH LENIHAN 8 (MAN OF THE MATCH)

Stood up when Rovers needed him most with a solid defensive display. Blocked four shots and made several last ditch clearances, and more headed clearances, as Rovers held on for a clean sheet.

DERRICK WILLIAMS 7

Drafted in for a first start since the opening day but at centre half. Deputised for Mulgrew well as he recovered from a slow start, making one goal-saving block to deny Keogh.

AMARI’I BELL 7

Given little protection down his side in the first half but after the break was much more secure in his defensive work. One key header at the back post under pressure in the second half.

RICHIE SMALLWOOD 7

A terrific goal-line clearance denied Johnson in the second half. Was dogged throughout, albeit over-run in the first. Came up against a very fine operator in Mount.

CORRY EVANS 6

Was in the right place to block a Tomori overhead kick and while chasing the ball for much of the first half, did see a second half shot saved.

CRAIG CONWAY 5

A rare start lasted just 32 minutes, as sensing the need to change, Mowbray sent on Danny Graham.

BRADLEY DACK 6

A quiet evening in which Rovers struggled to get the ball to him. Had one stand-out chance in the second half but could only find the side netting after going around Carson.

KASEY PALMER 5

Showed some nice early touches but soon drifted out of the game and was caught out in his defensive work at times which earned him a booking before being replaced.

ADAM ARMSTRONG 5

Touched the ball just 20 times as he was cut an isolated figure. Was also ineffective when moved out wide. Could have won his side a first-half penalty though after one direct run.

Subs

DANNY GRAHAM (for Conway, 32) 6

His physical presence was just what Rovers needed at the top end of the pitch. Linked up with Dack for his chance, and also had a daisy-cutter easily saved by Carson.

ELLIOTT BENNETT (for Palmer, 56) 6

Sent on to protect the Rovers left and almost won it late on with an excellent long-range effort which flashed just wide.

HARRISON REED (for Armstrong, 64) 6

Added an energy to the side when used from the right wing and helped Rovers see the game out.

Subs not used: Jayson Leutwiler, Paul Downing, Joe Rothwell, Ben Brereton
