IMPROVEMENTS to a Baxenden play area will start soon after the project received a cash boost of £30,000 from the Lancashire Environmental Fund.
Work will begin in late autumn to replace the junior swings and install an aerial runway, a large rotator, a basket swing and a rodeo board at the site at Baxenden Recreation Ground.
Cllr Paul Cox, Hyndburn Council's cabinet member for environmental services, said: "Getting this funding is great news, and thanks should go Baxenden Community Forum for all their hard work and help with this project, which will see a number of improvements and enhancements to the playground for local children to enjoy."
