A WELL-established Blackburn jewellers is opening a new store as part of its 30-year anniversary celebrations.

Peter Jackson The Jeweller, which sells a collection of gold and diamond jewellery and luxury watches, is taking over the former Ed’s Easy Diner unit in Blackburn’s Mall.

The store will be twice the size of its current unit near the King William Street entrance to the Mall, which it is vacating.

The family-owned business first came to the Blackburn shopping centre in 1988.

Blackburn was the second shop to be opened in the Peter Jackson portfolio, which launched in Preston in 1982.

During the last 30 years the retailer has had close ties with Blackburn Rovers.

Managing director Peter Jackson said: “Blackburn has a special place in our hearts and we have built a reputation for quality, value and personal service that continues to grow.

“We are now selling engagement rings to people who we sold christening gifts for.

“We are very pleased to be continuing our investment in Blackburn. It is a really exciting place to be right now.”

Shopfitters start on site on October 1 and the new store will open in early November.

Loraine Jones, general manager of The Mall Blackburn, said: “We have worked with the team at Peter Jackson The Jeweller for the last 30 years and it’s wonderful to see them continue to go from strength to strength.”

The new store will feature mini boutiques from leading Swiss watch brands Tag Heuer, Rado and Raymond Weil.
