PUPILS from a Darwen primary have raised £355 to help a boy with a rare life-limiting illness.
The members of Rotakids, a junior section of Rotary organisation, at Ashleigh School, decided to help Nolan James Crook, 13, who has been diagnosed with H-abc, a degenerative brain condition which progressively damages the white matter in the brain.
The Rotakids from Year Five at the school, heard about Nolan from sister and classmate Antonia.
The group organised a pyjama day and also a cake sale to raise the cash for Nolan’s treatment fund.
A team of US doctors in are hopeful of finding a cure for the disease which affects only 22 people worldwide.
Nolan is now a pupil at Darwen Aldridge Community Academy.
