AN INVESTIGATION is underway after a large pile of rubbish caught fire last night.
The blaze broke out on a patch of wasteland on Greenbank Road, Blackburn, at around 9pm.
Crews from Blackburn and Hyndburn were called to the scene and used a hose reel and three breathing apparatus to put out the fire.
The fire was out by 10.30pm and its cause is now under investigation.
A fire service spokesman said: "It involved a big pile of rubbish that had built up and caught fire on some wasteland."
