SINGING superstar Rod Stewart is heading to Bolton next summer.

The Scottish rocker will bring his Live in Concert tour to the University of Bolton Stadium on Friday, June 14, the final date in a series of shows to be held at football stadiums around the UK.

The tour will be Rod's first in three years and will feature many classic hits plus songs from his new album, Blood Red Roses.

The announcement follows sold-out concerts this summer at the stadium from Little Mix and The Killers.

Suzanne Speak, general manager of Bolton Whites Hotel, said: "We are absolutely thrilled to be welcoming Rod Stewart to the University of Bolton Stadium next summer.

"After staging two successful concerts this summer, our venue is back on the map from a live music point of view.

"We believe it's the first time Rod has been back to Bolton for over 50 years and we are certain that everybody will have a fantastic time."

It is believed Rod last visited Bolton as a member of the group Steampacket.

One of the most successful singers of all time, Rod Stewart has sold over 200 million records worldwide in a career that spans six decades. Now 73, he has had over 30 hit singles in the UK and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

In 2016 he became Sir Rod Stewart after being knighted by Prince William at Buckingham Palace for his services to music and charity.

The fully-seated tour is being promoted by Cuffe and Taylor Director Peter Taylor said: "We are delighted to be announcing Rod Stewart Live In Concert.
