THE identity of a man found dead in undergrowth beside the A59 will be named at the opening of his inquest tomorrow.

The 46-year-old man's body was discovered by police near the he 60ft-high bridge leading to Downham on Saturday.

Police had initially been informed of an abandoned silver Toyota Avensis car, which had been parked in Downham Road for several days.

The trunk road between Chatburn and Worston was closed from 11.30am until 3pm on Saturday while officers removed the body and searched the area.

The man is believed to be from the Blackpool area and officers are not treating the death as suspicious.

The inquest will take place at Blackburn Coroners Court.
