A DOG show featuring agility displays and other attractions will be held in an animal centre next weekend.

RSPCA Altham animal centre will again be the setting for the centre's 'biggest event' of the year, Dogs' Day Out.

It will feature lots of entertainment for the area’s four-legged friends, including dog shows, agility displays, gun-dog scurry and have-a-go agility.

There will also be a marquee crammed full of stalls, games and attractions, including Sue’s famous cake stall and the RSPCA Tombola with employees from the centre. Musical entertainment will also be provided by DJ Glostix.

A spokesman for RSPCA East Lancashire said: "This is the biggest event of the year for the RSPCA Altham animal centre, and we would love to see as many dogs, and their owners as possible."

Several other local charities will also be setting up stalls at the event, including Only Foals and Horses, RSPB, Cats Protection and German Shepherd Rescue.

It will be held at RSPCA Altham animal centre, on Enfield Road, Altham, on Sunday, September 16 from 11am to 4pm.

Registration for the Dog Shows and Agility activities takes place on the day.
