AN EAST Lancs firm has launched an online school transport scheme, thought to be the first of its kind in the country.

Padiham-based transport and logistics company Fraser Eagle this week launched the pioneering All School Transport, which allows schools across the UK to receive free quotes and book coach transport for school trips and outings over the internet.

The service, aimed solely at schools, hopes to take away teachers' concerns over whether the coaches they use are safe and legal.

"Organising transport for school trips can place a lot of stress on teachers as they are accountable to parents and governors and must give massive consider-ation to health and safety," said Kevin Dean, Fraser Eagle group managing director.

"Our All School Transport service is delivered using our nationwide network of approved coach suppliers and journeys are managed and tracked from start to finish by our 24-hour control centre."

The firm operates transport throughout the UK, through its network of approved coach companies which have been vetted by Fraser Eagle's compliance team.
