FOLLOWING the article concerning Blackburn Councillor Salim Lorgat, I feel I must speak out in his defence.
On a number of occasions local residents and myself have approached him with various problems, on each of these issues he has given 100 per cent support and has dealt with these issues in a fair and courteous manner.
He has given his time even at weekends to sort out our problems.
He is a man who works for the people and takes his office very seriously.
I feel other factors were involved in the Ivy Street meeting which were not of his making.
The Audley area has a very good councillor in Mr Lorgat and I would hope this letter will help clear his name.
