BRIGHTLY coloured dragons joined hot-air balloons in lighting up the sky above Barnoldswick at the weekend.
Pendle's first Festival of Flight saw the annual hot air balloon event being expanded to include stunt kite displays, monster kites and giant illuminated dragons.
The mythical creatures were created by youngsters in summer workshops with Barnoldswick's Community Arts Group.
The results were paraded around Victory Park at nightfall.
David Whipp, one of the organisers, said: "The festival was part of a series of regional quality events aimed at putting Pendle firmly on the map as a visitor destination."
