BLACKBURN Rovers boss Mark Hughes' new hospitality suite will make even Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson green with envy, according to the Darwen company which designed it.

APM Design, of Knott Street, designed the private suite where Mr Hughes entertains Premiership managers and their partners when they visit Ewood Park.

Company co-owner Andy McCluskey, 42, said: "Now it looks like something you would expect a Premiership manager to have.

"Alex Ferguson had his done last year and I had look at pictures of that and I thought we would give Mark something better."

The company began work in April worked over summer in time for the start of the season.

Before, the room had only a mounted plasma screen television and a small fridge besides the furniture.

The new room is designed create a calm atmosphere with mood lighting and comfortable furnish-ings. It has a plasma television fixed into the wall, a new fridge, a photographic montage of Blackburn Rovers images, walnut panelling, suede-panelled walls and is decorated in Rovers colours.

Mark Hughes said: "It looks really smart. I'm delighted and everyone else who has seen it says the same."

Andy said: "It was a good opportunity for us and we wanted to make it look good for Mark. We produced a scheme and presented the idea to Mark for his comments and he said he loved it. He didn't want to change anything and said lets do it'.

"It's a complete contrast to what they had before which was a very basic room with no kind of atmosphere."

Andy formed the company with his wife Tracy, 42, in 1988 in Bolton. The Hoddlesden couple moved to their current Darwen premises in spring 2005 to attract higher profile clients and commissions.

The company previously designed a small reception area for Rovers so when it was decided the hospitality suite needed a makeover it was asked to do it.

APM has also worked on projects for Lancashire County Cricket Club, north west leisure group FX Leisure and a cafe bar for the Harley Davidson showroom in Preston.
