A DERELICT building caught fire near a train station.
Emergency services were called to a fire at an empty property in a street opposite Burnley Central Station shortly before 2.30pm today.
When firefighters arrived at the scene they found smoke was issuing from the second floor window and roof space of the Adelphi Street building.
A fire spokesman said it was initially unclear whether there may have been people still inside the building and so crews gained entry and confirmed there were no casualties involved.
Fire services have also said the cause of the fire is unknown and is currently under joint investigation alongside the police.
