A CHANNEL 4 programme saw a successful East Lancashire businessman giving a teen advice on buying a drone, with amazing money saving and haggling tips along the way.

Self-made millionaire Dave Fishwick ended the last episode of the series How To Get Rich Quick by helping Burnley teen Nicki find a good deal on a drone.

The owner of the biggest minibus provider in the country and Burnley Savings and Loans, Mr Fishwick, of Burnley, gave people on the show tips on how to get better deals when buying products.

He said: “Nicki was fantastic, full of energy, and had a wonderful attitude. He’s a real smart cookie.” The 18-year-old was buying a drone to go up Pendle Hill, which he said was a dream of his. However, due to being in a wheelchair, he could not get up the hill.

With the drone, Nicki would be able to use a controller to fly the drone up the hill, while watching a screen.

It was brought for £500 from the £600 asking price, and Preston shop Speedy Models even threw in the screen, free repairs, a battery, and lessons in how to work it, with no extra charge.

Mr Fishwick said: “It’s a fixed price online, convenient, but fixed price. In a shop though, you can talk to someone and find out about the product and get a good deal."

The seven part series finished airing after episode seven, which is available for catch-up on Channel 4 OD.
