Police are warning Range Rover owners to be vigilant after a spate of thefts in the Ribble Valley.

Three thefts took place in Langho and Billington between July 20 and August 24.

A spokesperson from Clitheroe Police Station has urged car owners to consider stronger security measures, including steering wheel locks, as some of the Range Rovers had been stolen without using keys.

They said: "We would advise Range Rover owners in these areas to consider going back to basics with their security methods by using old-school crook locks or similar."

The first theft was reported on Friday July 20 when a Range Rover was stolen from a home in Billington.

It was recovered the following day in Oswaldtwistle, eight miles away.

The second incident took place on Monday August 13 when a Range Rover was reported stolen from a property in Langho.

Police are still searching for this vehicle and have released CCTV images of two men they wish to find in relation to the theft.

On Friday August 24, a third theft was reported to police, again from the Billington area close to Whalley.

This Range Rover has not yet been recovered but there were reported sightings of a vehicle matching its description in Accrington.

Police said that the incidents are still under investigation and are appealing for information in regards to all three thefts.

The spokesperson said: "Given the very similar nature of the thefts we are not ruling out the possibility they could all be connected."

Anyone with any information should contact Lancashire Police on 101.
