AN artist has painted a mural on a firm's wall in an attempt to inspire people by the canal.

Blackburn artist Hayley Welsh was asked by the Best Pneumatics company to paint a beautiful picture on the building wall by the canal in Church.

Miss Welsh has previously organised the Blackburn with Darwen art project, Blackburn Open Wall, where artists from all over the world came together to paint inspiring nature and wildlife wall art.

The inspiring artist said: “The Best Pneumatics saw what I did at BOW, and they liked what I worked on.

“They too wanted to be a part of the art culture, and asked me to do something on their wall canalside.

“I’m hoping it will inspire people who maybe go past in a boat, to see my painting and to feel as if though it was a beautiful place.

"I did it because I want people to see beautiful things as they pass the canal, and appreciate the art work and nature together.”

Miss Welsh is known for drawing eye catching wildlife characters, and is doing the same for Accrington as she did for Blackburn.

Work from her previous project can be seen all around Blackburn, with pictures of animals such as ducks, and portraits of faces on various walls by many different artists.
