A COUNCILLOR has expressed concern over animals straying onto residential streets,
Waterside ward's Liberal Democrat councillor Tony Greaves said cattle escaped on to Oxford Road and Hollins Road in Nelson over the Bank Holiday Weekend.
This followed several weeks of sheep straying onto gardens and local streets in the Knotts Lane and Knotts Drive area of Colne.
Cllr Greaves said: “This is just not acceptable. I have been in touch with Pendle Council officials about this. The cattle are a serious incident just waiting to happen.”
Cllr Greaves believes the animals may have strayed from land run by John Allison at Hubbs House Farm, already under a Community Protection Notice from Pendle Council to control his animals.
