RESTAURANTS have been named as finalists in the English Curry Awards 2018.

Usha Indian Restaurant, Aroma Asian Restaurant and Shimla Spice in Burnley, have been shortlisted for Restaurant of the Year North West.

Meanwhile, the Most Wanted Restaurant of the Year North West, sees Shajan (Blackburn), in the running for the award.

The Takeaway of the Year North West sees Aaisha Indian Takeaway and Shagor Tandoori Takeaway, in Burnley, shortlisted, along with Asha Indian Takeaway (Accrington).

Hawali Indian Ltd (Burnley), Tandoori Knights (Colne) and Shagor Tandoori Takeaway (Burnley), have been shortlisted for Takeaway and Home Delivery of the Year North West.

Chef of the Year finalists are Ibrahim Ali at Usha Indian Restaurant and Faisal Hussain at Shimla Spice.

Best Team of the Year finalists are Shimla Spice (Burnley/Keighley/Shipley) and Whitecroft Indian Bar & Restaurant (Oswaldtwistle).

While Roomali (Blackburn) has been shortlisted for Best Customer Service and Madras Authentic Indian (Barnoldswick) and Thira Restaurant (Blackburn), are up for South Indian Restaurant of the Year.

Subramanium Iyer at Thira Restaurant (Blackburn) has been shortlisted for General Manager of the Year.

The ceremony takes place on September 17 at the Copthorne Hotel Merry Hill in Dudley.
