A DRUG addict was caught stealing within two days of being released from a prison sentence imposed for similar offences.
Blackburn magistrates heard just four days before that prison sentence had been imposed Sajid Hussain had been given a suspended prison sentence.
SAJID Hussain, 30, of Queen Street, Haslingden, pleaded guilty to stealing meat worth £20 from Co-operative Retail. He was jailed for 14 days by Blackburn magistrates.
The court heard he was caught stealing within two days of being released from a prison sentence imposed for similar offences.
Mark Williams, defending, said drugs were behind his client’s offending.
“The question today is does he go straight back to jail,” said Mr Williams.
