A LAW firm in Lancashire is celebrating after raising £3,345 for nine of the best-loved charities as a result of taking part in the annual Will Aid will writing drive.

Watson Ramsbottom Solicitors, which has branches in Accrington, Great Harwood, Blackburn and Darwen, raised the money by giving up their time in November to write wills for local people in return for a voluntary donation to Will Aid.

This is the 16th year they have taken part in the scheme and they have raised a total of £24,990.

Director Stuart Maher said: “Our firm has embraced Will Aid with great passion. We provide a high level of service to the local community and clients are extremely happy to donate to charity.

“Making a will means loved ones you leave behind know that you have given your affairs some thought.”

Will Aid has raised more than £20 million for charity since it launched 30 years ago.

James Tarleton, Chair of Will Aid said: “We are very grateful to the solicitors and all those that used the scheme, for their generous contribution.

“Solicitors raised an incredible amount of money in 2017, but we need more if we are to satisfy demand. Help us celebrate 30 years since the launch of Will Aid by signing up and donating your time in 2018. Being part of Will Aid will raise the profile of your firm in your local community and bring new clients to your door, all whilst supporting nine UK charities.”
