A MAN has been taken to hospital following a crash between a car and a lorry.

The man, believed to be the driver of the car, was taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital by ambulance after he was cut out of his vehicle by firefighters.

He suffered multiple injuries but is not believed to be in a serious condition.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire and Rescue said: "At around midday, two fire engines from Blackburn attended a road traffic collision on St Peter Street in Blackburn.

"The incident involved a car and a lorry. One casualty was trapped inside the car.

"Crews had to remove the roof of the car to release the casualty."
